Case Studies

We provide a wide range of professional services to meet your needs. We promise to provide every service with a smile and to your highest level of satisfaction. Below are summaries of some of the projects we have helped with.

Compiling Business Plans

Start Ups and to Support Grant Applications

We can help you concisely articulate your business model, plans and targets. Through discussion we can put together realistic cash flows considering all potential scenarios. This exercise is critical to check how rhobust your plans are and often leads to making changes to what initially looked like the "winning business model".

Company Restructuring

Shareholders and Dirctors rights and responsibilities

Most businesses and business partners set out on their journey with a very clear and optimistic view of the future. The majority will never consider the "what ifs". An open discussion based around all the situations we have seen businesses enjoy and endure can lead to everyones interests being protected, reducing any potential future conflict. Agreements can then be documented and regularly reviewed to ensure they are fit for purpose.

Contract Negotiation

Experience is essential

All businesses will be party to contracts, business owners need to understand all the financial and legal implications of their contracts. Most will also require support and coaching in relation to how to get the best outcome from the process of contract negotiation. We can help, drawing on our experience of negotiating contracts with UK and overseas companies, successfully agreeing contracts of upto £7.5m value.

Sounding Board

Having support and being challenged

Many business owners do not have the luxury of being able to discuss their plans, goals and ambitions for their business with their employees, lawyers or accountants. Even those that do can not always benefit from being challenged by those professionals taking an holistic view. We believe that by building rapport, fully understanding your plans and challenging them where necessary, the plans will be more rhobust and more likely to come to fruition. Sometimes the dream is not what you initially thought it was.

Business Turnaround

You don't always have to learn from your mistakes

It is very easy for business owners to be too close to their business and focused on the long term that they fail to see some fundamental issues that are here and now. One example we experienced was working with a business that had a balance sheet deficit greater than the annual turnover of the business. The owner was passionate about his dream, with no clear understanding of how to achieve it, he thought that borrowing extensively to keep the doors open for long enough would lead to it just happening. Clarifying the business goals and undertaking a thorough review of systems, processes highlighting key issues. Discounting when it was not necessary. Square pegs in round holes. Not understanding the true cost of staff and premises. Having addressed those issues and assisting with creditor negotiations, a clear path to solvency was created.

Mergers and Aquisitions

Making the most of potential opportunities

All businesses will benefit from being in the right place at the right time at some point, the issue can be moving quickly emough to benefit. It is not always necessary to involve solicitors and accountants in the early stages of potential acquisitions, we can support by assisting in the initial evaluation in a very timely and cost effective manner. Ultimately the professionals will be required and we strongly support all businesses having access to not only great accountants but also to trusted corporate lawyers when necessary.
